If you have a complaint about a service or any other dealing relating to the University, put your complaint in writing to the provider of the service or the relevant responsible officer.

Upon receipt of notification the 'Notice and Take down' procedure is then invoked.
Newcastle University will acknowledge receipt of your enquiry by email or letter within 10 working days. The University will make an initial assessment of the validity and plausibility of the complaint.
If the initial assessment is that your complaint is potentially valid and requires further investigation or legal advice, the relevant material will be removed (or a request made to the hosting party if the material is hosted elsewhere) forthwith pending the outcome of the complaint.
Newcastle University will contact the contributor who deposited the material, if relevant. The contributor will be notified that the material is subject to a complaint, under what allegations, and will be encouraged to assuage the complaints concerned.
The complainant and the contributor will be encouraged to resolve the issue swiftly and amicably and to the satisfaction of both parties. The possible outcomes are as follows:
material is replaced on the Newcastle University website unchanged
material is replaced on the Newcastle University website with changes
material is permanently removed from the website.
If the contributor and the complainant are unable to agree a solution, the material will remain unavailable through the Newcastle University website until a time when a resolution has been reached.
Notice will be given via the website about materials that have been taken down to inform others who may have copies.
Newcastle University will (if necessary) take legal advice and, where it is practicable, support action, if necessary, against unofficial sites purporting to be in our name/not under our control that breach others’ rights.
Specific additional take down procedures may apply in special circumstances.
